Loretta Ainsworth and Ethel Sutfin |
| I don't know where to start telling you about Ethel and her
daughter, Loretta. Before I say anything else though, I want to
say this, Ethel Sutfin is one of the most amazing people I've ever
known and all of her children are proof of that. In a
minute I'll share all of them with you - besides Loretta there is Lois,
David, Larry, and David's wife Christy and you're going to love them
all... I promise. Ethel could be the poster person for single mothers if there were a category for unconventional single mothers. She raised her four children with one simple guideline - No matter what, the family comes first and she has never lost track of that. The stories I could tell, and I only know a few of them, would make you cry, and laugh and they would make you feel better about the human race but above all they'd make you wish that you were part of the Sutfin Clan. What was going on the day this picture was taken is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I told you that Loretta had been diagnosed with a serious illness - a life threatening illness whose treatment involved chemotherapy. Rather than wait for her hair to fall out as a result of the treatment Loretta determined that she would have her head shaved. This photo was taken the day that heads were shaved at the Sutfin house.
